About this model

In the 1800's and early 1900's, lumber at sawmills was shifted from the mill into the yard using single-axle wooden "lumber trucks" with cast iron wheels. This model is drawn from the catalog of a major manufacturer. The two wheels should be attached to a simple wooden frame constructed from strip wood as per period photographs (wooden parts were built locally and varied widely). The axle is to made from wire or styrene rod. The axle is coupled to the journal using fine wire to represent the U-bolt used on the prototype. The wheels are 25" in diameter and the axle is 2" in diameter. The model is provided at 1:1 scale. Scale as appropriate down to about 1/48 scale. Not guaranteed for printing at smaller scales. Print two of each part per lumber truck.
